At the core of our company is the belief that hitting ZERO™ Biodegradable Golf Balls in a beautiful waterfront paradise is really, really fun. The waterfront paradise can be anywhere - on a tropical island, off a super yacht, or into a lake near your house. Wherever your waterfront paradise is, our goal is to help you golf there in an environmentally friendly way.

Splash City Golf started in 2016 when a company hired us to produce a pop-up, waterfront driving range for their holiday party. Since then, we have developed the ZERO™ ball, which we proudly manufacture in the USA. We have also become an authorized dealer of GolfShotBot Floating Golf Targets, the best floating golf targets in the world. We also continue to produce waterfront driving ranges for corporate and social events through our Full Service offering.

We hope you enjoy learning about our story and exploring our products and services. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or would just like to say hello.

Our Story

Our first waterfront driving range event in Baltimore.

Our First Water Golf Production

2016

A company hired us to create a waterfront driving range for their holiday party on Baltimore’s famous Inner Harbor. We MacGyvered a floating target with inner tubes and Christmas lights, with a dumbbell acting as the anchor. The event was a massive success! Women in fancy cocktail dresses and men in suits were addicted to hitting these balls at our makeshift target. We even saw one woman hitting balls while wearing stilettos in-between sips of her martini. The pop-up waterfront driving range was born.

Our First Floating Golf Target

2017

Our first floating golf target was made of wood, inner tubes, bungee cords, and zip ties. It was so heavy! For each event we hired an electric boat operator to take us out on the water so we could drop the anchor and place the target. It was a big hassle, and we knew we needed a better alternative. However, without this wooden behemoth, our pop-up water golf concept would never have flourished. Rumor has it that the remains of our original target are somewhere in Dundalk, MD.

Adding Technology to our Floating Golf Target

2018

We teamed up with MarkSetBot to use their technology as a floating golf target. This technology allowed us to control and anchor the target with a mobile app without the need for a physical anchor. This was huge, as we began expanding our event service outside of Baltimore to the Annapolis and Washington DC areas. This partnership would eventually lead to the creation of the GolfShotBot Floating Golf Target. Today, we are proud to be the only authorized dealer of GolfShotBots™ in the USA.

Named Best of Baltimore

2019

The press begins picking up on our waterfront golf concept. We get a feature in the Baltimore Business Journal and are covered in Baltimore Magazine. We continue to sign up new waterfront venues as partners in the DMV area. Baltimore Magazine declares us a Best of Baltimore award winner, which makes sense because you have to be the best at something if you are the only people doing it. Things are going great in 2019 and are poised to continue into 2020, until…

Surviving COVID-19

2020 - 2021

The large scale corporate and social events that we build pop-up driving ranges for largely disappeared during this time period. Luckily, we were able to maintain some contracts and continue to produce water golf events for smaller events. During this time, we also continued to work with MarkSetBot to improve the mobility and underlying technology of the GolfShotBot Floating Golf Target. We knew there would be light at the end of the tunnel if we could just get through the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

2022-2024

Bouncing Back

We expand our water golf concept throughout the East Coast, producing driving ranges in New York, Maryland, DC, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. We partner with the United States Golf Association (USGA) for an event promoting the U.S Open at Pinehurst in North Carolina and the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA) for an event promoting the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in New York. We partner with ESPN for an episode of America’s Caddie. Things are looking great!

Launching the ZERO™ ball

2025

We experienced two main issues when acquiring golf balls for our Full Service events. The first issue was an unreliable supply chain. The second issue was the lack of clear and transparent eco-certifications. We learned that other biodegradable golf ball customers faced similar problems. A few years ago we decided to create our own line of biodegradable golf balls. We launched the ZERO™ Biodegradable Golf Balls, a ball that we proudly manufacture in the USA and which is backed by clear and transparent environmental certifications.
